2019’s Our Ocean Conference in Oslo, Norway, highlighted the importance of scientific knowledge as the basis of ocean action and policy, to ensure marine conservation, responsible management of marine resources and sustainable economic growth.

The conference had a mission to build partnerships between government, industry, science, and civil society, putting knowledge, technology, and finance into action to meet the challenges facing the ocean. It also focused on enabling production and sustainable use to go hand-in-hand so that the ocean can continue to provide for the needs of future generations.
